Council is poised to vote on the Airport Employment Growth District, a 3,000 acre plan to expand the urban boundary around Hamilton International Airport for employment lands. Do you support this plan? Why or why not? Maybe In principle, I support Airport Employment Growth District, however, we must not foolishly invest money on infrastucture unless we will truly get adequate returns on the investments. Furthermore, we should strive to get existing vacant industrial/commercial lands developed first, then move on to the Airport district development, which may be many years away in reality.
Do you support Hamilton's LRT proposal? If so, what will you do to ensure Hamilton's success in building LRT? If not, why do you oppose it? No No LRT but will consider BRT/streetcars, etc. Just see Portland, Oregon. They only spent $125 million to get the job done, i.e. streetcars. In return, they received benefits from this of over $3 million, by their estimates. LRT will not be viable - too much investment risk for the return on benefits that may result.
Some cities have committed recently to publishing their public data in an open format that citizens can directly access. Should Hamilton pledge to become an "open source city"? Why or why not? Yes Yes, become an open source city. This allows citizens to be more informed on all the issues. In turn, these people can apply their beliefs on the issues at hand to the elected officials.
Is Hamilton doing enough to support and encourage new investment in our older neighbourhoods? If not, what should the City be doing? No No, we need to do much more. See my website and click on "World Cultures District" and "More Co-operation with BIA".
Should we spend the Future Fund to build a Pan Am / Ticat stadium on the CP Rail Yard lands? Why or why not? No No. Future Fund money could be better invested in other areas which will generate much more return on the investment not only financialy but for other societal benefits.
Hamilton's Cycling Master Plan has Council approval. However, the implementation timeline is very long and ward councillors can block individual bike lane projects. Do you support accelerating the completion of a continuous bicycle network and other initiatives like a bike sharing program and better access up and down the Escarpment? Why or why not? Yes Yes, acccelerate the completion. I really like the concept of bike sharing but we need to wait for test results from Montreal Trial Program.

PS France's trial program was very expensive with much financial cost to the taxpayer.
For your campaign, will you be accepting donations from corporations or unions? If so, why? If not, why not? No No. I do not want to feel beholding to contributors. I want to make free thinking decisions.
