Many observers argue that Council meetings could be more respectful and professional. Do you agree? If so, what will you do to change this? Maybe In my many years on Council I have always respected the integrity of the Council Chambers. I will continue to maintain a high level of decorum and respect the rules of behavior expected of our elected officials. I would use my experience and my personal behaviour to influence my Council colleagues.
Hamilton's Cycling Master Plan has Council approval. However, the implementation timeline is very long and ward councillors can block individual bike lane projects. Do you support accelerating the completion of a continuous bicycle network and other initiatives like a bike sharing program and better access up and down the Escarpment? Why or why not? Maybe I am a strong supporter of Hamilton's Cycling Master Plan. I am not convinced that there is clamor for bicycle commuter lanes across the city. I strongly support and advocate for funds to enhance recreational cycling trails around the city. The city has constructed pedestrian/cycling bridges across the "Linc" and the QEW. This is a testament to my record on this subject.
Is Hamilton doing enough to support and encourage new investment in our older neighbourhoods? If not, what should the City be doing? Yes I am a strong proponent of upgrading our aging infrastructure, particularly in our older neighbourhoods. We need to allocate sufficient resources in future budgets to ensure that these improvements are made.
