Do you support Hamilton's LRT proposal? If so, what will you do to ensure Hamilton's success in building LRT? If not, why do you oppose it? Yes This will probably be the most important injection of Federal and Provincial money to the City of Hamilton over the next 20 years. This transit will be a catalyst to the future development of the City. It will not only better tie the city but will the source of much of our growth.
Is Hamilton doing enough to support and encourage new investment in our older neighbourhoods? If not, what should the City be doing? No The high business taxes, the unresponsive nature of city hall to work with new investors, are the two main reasons for lack of new investment. The City of Hamilton needs to reduce business taxes, and create an atmosphere at City Hall that encourages and supports new investment. We need to play off are City's strengths world class University, Colleges, and Health care facilities. These should be the engines of future development.
For your campaign, will you be accepting donations from corporations or unions? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes Yes, the campaign will be accepting donations from trade unions and corporations. These organizations play a vital and integral role in the life and well being of the City of Hamilton.
