Bio | Steven Passmore was born in Hamilton but moved to England in 1960, returning in 1967. He has since lived in Hamilton for thirty years and in early 1993 became involved in public service as a volunteer with Crossroads and Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition. One of Steven’s goals is to make people with disabilities more visible in the Canadian media.
Steven states that “there is a perception out there that people with disabilities are just takers. The problem has always been that the Canadian media has spoken to us, for us, yet without us. I feel that it is time to run for the Family Coalition Party to help change this attitude, to fight for seniors and all Hamilton Centre residents. I want to see income splitting for seniors to lower their tax burden and I will seek to reduce taxes for all Ontario residents. As much as I have worked with people with disabilities and the elderly I will work for all constituents in Hamilton Centre. It is my feeling that a strong Ontario begins with promoting life-respecting values. I will work to strengthen traditional families as they are the building blocks of a strong Ontario”. |
