BioNathalie Xian Yi Yan, born in a traditional Chinese medical practice family in 1966 from Jiang Su Province, Nan Tong, the founder of Hamilton Traditional Chinese Medical Health Science Center in 2000 in Hamilton with a Doctor Degree of Medical Science in TCM from China. She initiates a new concept of San Jiao biology function in different stages of biology function under TCM theory.

Academic History

Raised by herbalists’ grandparents, started to recite TCM rules at early age with her father who the Doctor at hospital of internal medicine with western and TCM, apprenticeship at family TCM business for over 10 years after her university. She came to Canada as independent immigrant of biochemist in 2000 established Hamilton Traditional Chinese Medical Health Science Center after worked at drug stores as pharmacy assistant.

After moved into Parkdale Medical Center Nathalie was humbled to be around the physicians and other experts in the building and beyond. One time the office area reached 3800 square feet where almost half space is dedicated donate to Tai Chi MyStyle and other exercise classes which developed from ancient Chinese fitness forms to open to public. Cooking Show and Nutrition Market Tour are designed as well for TCM principal how to prevent and recovery effectively, hopefully to carry on the TCM philosophy development.

Yan participant and present her research and clinic academic reports on TCM and Acupuncture 15 times at the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies conferences. She was accepted as a speaker at UNESCO in Israel of “TCM and Life on Earth” in 2007 and contributed the Chapter of San Jiao to New- Acupuncturiology published in Bei Jing by Traditional Chinese Medicine Classics Press in 2008.

Yes It is a absolutely responsible for the municipal government implant a practical and effective policy and a plan how to manage the traffic signs to eliminate cyclists death to promote to share the road, pedestrian, cyclist and make a safe secure community all together
Do you support phasing out area rating for transit? Why or why not? No I like to adjust the bus routine allocation resources to expand into rural community and all city facilities
Hamilton has been experiencing a slow-motion crisis in housing affordability. Do you support an expanded role for the City to provide more affordable housing? If so, what should Hamilton do? If not, why not? Yes Housing is a basic human right to survive and live with dignity in Canada. Hamilton is claimed the best city to raise children for two decades. it’s a shame for politicians and policy makers to promote dysfunctional policy’s that increase homelessness and raise the poverty line. sustainable housing should be the priority for the city in the next election as a fundamental goal
Hamilton has a legacy of multi-lane, one-way arterial streets dating back to the 1950s. Do you support accelerating the conversion of these streets to two-way? Why or why not? Yes It is a long overdue for Hamilton to open every single street to two way traffic except a very short or absolute even necessary small route otherwise open them up ASAP. the world is evolving economy is changing the population is re-shaping the city landscape
Council has voted dozens of times since 2008 to advance Hamilton's light rail transit (LRT) project, including voting to submit the plan with a full funding request to the Province in 2013, and voting to accept full funding and implementation from the Province in 2015. Do you support completing the LRT plan? Why or why not? No If LRT is successful although I am personally oppose to it I will do my best as the elected representative of the city to encourage the provincial government to support full funding and make the project in the best interest of Hamiltonians
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act mandates that cities must be completely accessible by 2025. What changes would you make to ensure Hamilton complies with this mandate? Yes my experience in healthcare for 18 years has shown me with other practitioners share the patients best interests in healthcare regarding disability and accessibility on the daily basis . I will give praise to the City what they have done. So far. yes! I do agree we could make it better we could make a foster and more effective
Since the 1950s, most new residential and commercial development in Hamilton has been single-use suburban sprawl. Do you believe Hamilton needs to concentrate new development within the already-built area? Why or why not? Yes we should concentrate on renovation adding value to the property we already have . Development is not the only model available to our economy. from manufacturing industry to the digital economy we must also consider the environment and have goal oriented models for sustainability 
Global warming is an existential challenge facing humanity. Do you think Hamilton should play a role in addressing climate change? If so, what should the city be doing? If not, why not? Yes Municipal level is the closest level of government to the people. It is a municipal government obligation to take responsibility for their strategy plan and actions to guide therefore the citizens are accountable for recycling and other methods to reduce the carbon footprint. Everything we do everything we plan to do has social and economic consequences on society and-future generations. We see the pollution we see the global warming we see the disasters happening around the world. It is the responsibility of newly elected councilors and individual citizens to consider how new economic model should be designed as environmental oriented designs
Bonus question: If LRT goes ahead, what will you do to ensure Hamilton receives the maximum benefit? Should Hamilton be trying to attract more young people to live, work and start businesses here, including the 60,000 students studying at Mohawk College, McMaster University and Redeemer University? If so, what should we be doing? If not, why not? Yes To any community young people bring innovation. They are full of energy and new ideas they push the world forward. It’s a powerful resource. Hamilton have many assets and tangible treasures that can attract young people not only to come but to prompting the spectrum from culture art and industry
Do you support improved public transit in Hamilton? If so, what changes do you propose? If not, why not? Yes I support an economic formula that will have the effect of allocation of resources for the expansions and progressive goals for transportation in Hamilton
