Bio | Born in Kingston, Ontario, David is a long time management consultant with clients such as Scouts Canada, Certified Management Accountants, Proctor & Gamble, and the Royal Bank. He has also been General Manager of a large real estate organization in Mississauga with a staff of over 100 people.
David is a professional speaker, having authored the personal development book "Your Spectacular Quest." He is also the founding and past president of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers. First elected to the House of Commons in 2006, David was re-elected in 2008. He has most recently served as Chair of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology. He is connected to the communities he represents — attending hundreds of civic, charitable and community events each year, including the Ancaster Food Drive, the United Jewish Appeal Walk and the Canadian Club of Hamilton. An outdoor enthusiast who loves hiking and swimming, David has participated in several triathlons — most notably the 1994 North American long course. A proud grandfather, David and his wife, Almut, live in Ancaster with two of their children. |
